LABORATORY SERVICES
Brighton Analytical offers a wide variety of analytical services. Our laboratory has been divided into Laboratory Departments to focus on the complexities of each chemical analysis. Please view each of the Laboratory Departments for a more complete listing of analysis. Keep in mind that this is not an all encompassing list, as we are able to accommodate many analyses. If your particular analysis is not listed, please contact us by telephone (810)229-7575, facsimile (810)229-8650 or e-mail bai-brighton@sbcglobal.net and we will be happy to investigate your specific testing needs.
DRINKING WATER ANALYSIS
Drinking Water samples are handled separately from all other samples and analyzed on specific, dedicated equipment. When collecting your drinking water sample, please remember to record the date and time sampled as well as the location where you took your sample from. This information along with the laboratory data will be issued on the final report.
INORGANIC LABORATORY
The inorganic Laboratory handles several parameters that are not specific to the other laboratories. A few examples of these analytes are: Alkalinity, Anions (Bromide, Chloride, Fluoride, Nitrate, Nitrite, Sulfate), BODs, BTU, Carbon Dioxide, COD, Cyanides, Density, Phenolics, Flashpoint, Hydrogen Sulfide, Nitrogen (Ammonia, Kjeldahl), Oil & Grease, Paint Filter Test, Phosphorus, Specific Gravity, Sulfides, Sulfur, TX, EOX, TDS, TSS, Turbidity.
METALS LABORATORY
We analyze for all Metals and Minerals in this lab. Some of the more common elements include: Antimony, Aluminum, Arsenic, Barium, Beryllium, Boron, Calcium, Cadmium, Chromium, Cobalt, Copper, Iron, Lead, Lithium, Magnesium, Manganese, Mercury, Molybdenum, Nickel, Potassium, Selenium, Silicon, Silver, Sodium, Strontium, Thallium, Tin, Titanium, Uranium, Vanadium, Zinc.
LOW LEVEL MERCURY LABORATORY
Is a clean room expressly for the Low Level Mercury Analyzer and equipment. Samples for EPA 1631 are contained in this area for the duration of the entire analytical process from preserving to analyzing to reporting.
MICROBIOLOGCAL LABORATORY
Microbiology focuses on various kinds of Bacteria that can be present in Drinking Water as well as other matrices. These tests are timed starting from the time of collection to the time that the media is placed on test to the time that the test is completed. Your media must be collected in special containers and submitted to the lab within short period. Some of the common Bacteria that we analyze for include: Total Coliform, E. Coli Coliform, Fecal Coliform, Iron Bacteria and Sulfate Reducing Bacteria.
ORGANICS LABORATORY
In the Organics Laboratory, we focus on such testing as: Volatiles, TPH's, PCB's, Pesticides, Herbicides, Alcohols, Glycols, and TOC's to name a few. Due to the nature of Volatile Organics, located within this lab are dedicated Reach-In-Refrigerators holding these specific samples eliminating the chance for any crossover contamination. The Semi-Volatile range or organics have dedicated instrumentation and are separate from the Organics Laboratory. Semi-Volatile analyses include: BNA's, PNA's, DRO's, Phenols, Phthalates (these are some of the more popular analyses). These analysis listings will be included with the Organics listing.
